[By the time Komaeda returns (thankfully having NOT burnt the apartment to the ground in his absence), Basil is...fully occupied with this very large cat that has decided he is going to be the sole proprieter of pets. And honestly? Even though Basil is feeling- quite frankly- awful right now...well. It's hard to feel quite so bad when you're being loved on by an animal. He doesn't even mind the way Grand Bois is drooling on him, smiling a little in spite of himself as he rubs all over him.
Basil nods as Komaeda sits down at the futon across from him, still gently petting the cat on his head and occasionally down his spine, very aware from his experience with Mewo that you don't really want to just aggressively pet a cat the same way you would a dog, lest you're willing to gamble the integrity of your limbs in exchange.]
