Nagito's awake enough to speak, to ask questions, to be aware of his surroundings... ...maybe Hajime's getting a little ahead of himself - Nagito's just woken up, after all, and barely so. It's possible he's not all here yet. But Hajime can't help but believe that it's going to be all right. That this is actually working. That they did it, he did it.
Hajime believes it so strongly that it's not even belief anymore. It's almost like knowledge. When he sees Nagito open his eyes and recognize him, when he hears Nagito call him by his name... Hajime doesn't believe, but actually knows - that everything will be all right, after all.
The short, shallow breaths of anxiety that Hajime's hardly been taking finally fall out of him in one big sigh. In the rush of it, he's almost laughing. There's a wide, relieved smile on his face, and in his eyes, and everywhere. He's holding out his hand.
He's holding out his right hand, encouraging Nagito to take it, so he can pull Nagito up and out of the pod. Out of the Neo World Program, back into the real world. The real world isn't a perfect world, but it's a world they're trying to fix, make right again, and Hajime knows Nagito would want to help with that. Hajime wants Nagito to help.
